On June the 8th we’ll be at the very lovely Garden House in Brighton spending a whole day making. In the morning we’ll distill in the big Alembic Still and then in the afternoon use some of the flower water to make a soap.

Sublime Soap and Flower Water making Day Course in Lewes
Saturday November 10th from 11am to 4pm. £75 including all materials, lunch and afternoon tea (we make a mean cake!).
The Alembic full of lavender ready for distilling
Judith and I are very jolly to announce that we will be offering a day course at The Old Forge in Lewes. We’ll spend the morning learning about flower waters and then we’ll fire up the Alembic Stills and make a batch of lavender hydrosol and essential oil.
In the afternoon we’ll learn about soap making from scratch and then use some of the hydrosol we made in the morning to make cold process soap.
We’ll talk about the legal considerations and health and safety as well as teaching you the basics of cold process soap making.
At the end of the day you’ll have a small bottle of flower water to take home and a beautiful soap which will be cured in time for Christmas.
The day will be relaxed and informal, informative and fun.
